Unfortunately, by then you probably have a maxxed out ship (storyline notwithstanding), and are beyond the point of needing money. With two Leviathans, it's much money you can make. There's two worlds fairly near that jumpgate that are a couple of jumps apart that have a Luxury Goods run. In prior games, used to like hanging out in Auroran space near a jumpgate, and then capture a Leviathan or two (the Aurorans don't seem to care). I had one character end up financially ruined when I'd spent all but about 1000cr on cargo, undocked, and both of my escorts quit due to nonpayment, leaving me with about 75 cr. You do have to be pretty careful to keep an operating margin, though (in the beginning, anyway). On the downside, if you're hiring a fleet of Terrapins, four days in hyperspace takes a pretty good bite of your profit (~1100/day/escort, if you can find the cheap ones). Your profit margin's notionally a bit better (they for 720 on New Dublin, buy for 1250 or so on Moonrise, so about 500cr/ton profit). Your profit margin at the beginning is pretty small, but it doesn't take long until you can afford to hire another ship on each circuit.Īnother decent run is New Dublin(? the Wild Geese homeworld) to Moonrise, for Luxury Goods. I think the Europa-Earth trade run is a little more time efficient in the end - with time compression on, you can make the run (Europa-Earth-Europa) in less than a minute, and you can do it in the Light Shuttle you start with. I'm gonna go grab some dinner, and then go fly around and blast more spaceships.Ĭlick to expand.Hm, that's true. I think my biggest "win" so far was getting crazy-lucky and capturing a Pirate Manticore (1% capture chance, but it was worth 1.3Mcr). (I'd love to just have a "advanced" game start where you've got a million bucks) If you don't mind about an hour's worth of grindy drudgery, you can make enough seed money to make your first upgrade a fully-kitted Starbridge. I don't know what most folks' trick is for getting to your first "good" ship - I think the least painful way I've found is to ferry Luxury Goods from Europa to Earth (about 225cr/ton profit) starting out with a fleet of hired cargo drones, and eventually upgrading to a fleet of hired Terrapins (providing about 600t cargo, or about 125k profit per run). sits that I don't recall having had any luck getting to work on the Windows version. ![]() Out of curiousity, where did you download the plugins you're using? I found a couple on the EVN website, but about half of them are. I think I've managed to get myself into the Federation storyline (I'm transporting armaments to Fed bases on the Auroran border), though I'm waiting for some new missions. ![]() And I'm reminded again of the parts that are great (once you can afford a decent ship), and the parts that drag (.grinding money until you can afford a better ship). Well, so your WIP has gotten me to get back into playing EV Nova.
